Crosstown players deliver a range of tunes in an organ trio format from R&B and soul to blues, funk, and reggae jams. With Chauncey Yearwood behind the drums and on vocals, Colin Brown holds down the organ and they are joined by Tash Neal on guitar and vocals. Members of The Crosstown Players have worked with Charles Bradley, The London Souls, The Pimps of Joytime, High and Mighty Brass Band, Amy Helm, Kendra Morris, Monophonics, Naomi Shelton and the Gospel Queens, Akoya Afrobeat Ensemble, and many more.
A Western Pennsylvania native, Joe Thompson has hocked his cocktail of Heartland Rock and Dusty Folk-tinged Country from Pittsburgh to New York City to Austin, Texas. In 2010, Joe and his backing band The Comfortable Catastrophe took the highest honor at WNYC's inaugural Battle of the Boroughs beating out over 10,000 applicants and hundreds of performers for 1st place.
